  Stayed here for two nights and can't say enough good things it. Our cottage was clean and stocked with all the essentials we could have hoped for. It was great to wash our clothes using the in-unit washer and dryer after being on the road for several days. The owner was super friendly and made us feel welcome and at home even though we were on the other side of the world. The location is beautiful. Manapouri is a smaller town so we enjoyed the peacefulness of the New Zealand countryside, but there are still several restaurants and convenience stores near by. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in the area. If we're ever lucky enough to come back to New Zealand, we'll definitely be staying at Acheron Cottages.

  The place has uninterrupted mountain views and is dead quiet at night. There are only 2 cottages on a property; ours was spotless clean and well maintained. I recommend this place if you are taking cruise on Doubtful Sound or just exploring the less crowded fjords on your own.
